Speaking to myself...

OK OK so you got a little bit of audio gear, some recording experience but compared to a lot of people out there and I'm just talking about the Denver area alone, there are so many more producers and studios, better equipped better skilled far more experienced... your just recording from your apartment that your renting... ha ha sucka... your gear only totals to about 4 G's and that's probably when you first bought it! So how in the hell can you say that you have a recording studio and your a sound engineer? What the hell!

Well... I truly appreciate all what your saying, and I won't deny that it is true. Keep in mind I haven't been going into this thing blind or still wet behind the ears. I'm 30 yrs old been making music since I was 11 rapping in the left channel of orange foam head phones over awia karaoke machine with my Trejo relatives. Had my first PC DAW when the Pentium 3 processor first came out, but that don't matter as much as what I been doing the past years. I have increased and I'm still increasing my knowledge and experience in sound recording and engineering, I'm not into making beats (not yet any how). I'm taking the time out of my life needed to be great, to study on the vast subject or love I have for music but it goes deeper then just a lover and a fan of music. What thrives me is I put soul in it, from reading books to pressing the record button on my VS 100, learning correct mic placement, music theory all that I'm into and that's what motivates me.

I can't lie, when i see these big well established studios what gear, what projects they touched, whom they have as their super producers and engineers, yeah it can get a little discouraging or maybe even a little intimidating however Ive always been the person that acknowledges i don't have all the answers skills, experience or even materialistic things of life.

Keep in mind now, I am a D.Y.S to the heart I'll do it myself, I'm not afraid to ask for help even though I don't like to. Trust me I will study to show my self approved to find the right answer. I will put the time and energy and focus needed in to gain the proper knowledge, skill and sacrifice. My blood sweat and sleep even relationships I sacrifice to gain all the experience needed.

However all that extra shit is just for show, no lie. Yes I want all the fancy latest gear, equipment but like I said all that extra shit just for show. I make due with what I got. If I can't master this mid level equipment I have for the time being, then what good is the top notch equipment later.

You have to crawl before you walk and walk before you run and train hard before you win the gold so on and so forth. Trust me I'm not crawling anymore and my projects show that. If ones self truly understands the basics of this art, they will agree you don't have to have the very best mixers, consoles, mics, monitors and what ever. You get the picture. What matters the most is possessing a grounded understanding and the know how to apply what you know. Trust me your going to be doing better then many of these producers and studios out there that have commercial buildings and the latest gear.
Truth be known.

By the way I'm not thinking of any certain studio and producer out their. Trust me. There are many things I can learn, especially from anyone of these other studios, producers and engineers. I'm not delusional. I know all that fancy gear out there does make a profound difference in this craft. I'm just making it happen with what I got now and the card I'm holding. I can only justify myself with the truth, which is....
I'm aspiring to be, I'm aspiring to get to the level as many of you all, that's what motivates me.
